    Default Kayak fishing

Hey does anybody crappie fish out of there kayak? Does anybody hit the cape fear up for crappie? If so where is a good place to drop the kayak and feel the thump?!

Have seen a number of kayaks fishing on Jordan and Harris. One even competed in some of the tournaments a couple of years ago.

I fish for crappie about 90% of the time from my kayak. I either troll or drift fish from mine with great success. Fishing gets tricky if there's much wind blowing. You're definitely taking your life in your own hands if you get out with a bunch of pleasure boats.

I used my kayak for a bit before I got my boat. I mostly tightlined minnows over brush piles in falls lake. Worked well enough. You don't have much range from wherever you launch, but you can put in most anywhere.

We use our kayaks down east to chase reds inshore. There are great fishing spots where you can't get the big boat in.

Definitely get some kind of flag to help others see you. Busy crappie fisherman (and lunatics in bass boats) aren't looking out for the plastic navy.
