Default Long-lining at night? Headed to Jordan 06/27 evening

Hadn't seen much on this... finally have an opportunity to get back out tomorrow night and was thinking about hitting up Jordan.
I've also recently purchased a 36" green submersible light and have never fished with one.
Call me crazy, but I was thinking of hanging the light straight down from my transom, then pulling my 10'&12' rods like I'd usually do during the day... can't knock it til I try it right?!
Or should I just tie up to a bridge somewhere, drop the light straight down and fish around it like I've read everywhere?
Either way, I'm just excited to get some lines wet after a loooong month and a half of no fishing.
Thanks in advance for your help!

I've wondered the same thing about long-lining at night. With 24-volt LED lights available, it looks like you could run the trolling motors and lots of light on the back end to see all the rod tips. I don't like bugs and don't like generators, so maybe the technology is now ready to make trolling at night a possibility.

I heard of a fella doing it at Wateree. He put out his green 4 foot led out behind his boat and slow trolled. How fast I have no idea. It would be possible. Just like anything else you got try it, then practice it until it works for you. I put out the green light behind the boat tight lining and free lining for stripers at Wateree and it works for me when they are moving. I bump along at .5 mph mostly. Try it you might like it!

There are plenty of those. Slow trolling for cats the other night on tillery and watched a pontoon full of drunk idiots run all over one of the buoy markers at the entrance to woodrun cove. Hope he messed something up on his boat. They were cussing and wide open in reverse like it was the buoy's fault. Worse thing was the buoy was one of the new ones with a light on it and they still ran all over it.

Some guys at work simply drift at night. They will bump the trolling motor from time to time. I have drifted a few times at night and you can catch fish, however I fish mid-depths at night with a split shot, so you really don't need much speed.
