A friend of my Father's used to hunt carp with a bow up Morgan Creek on Jordan. Go under the Farrington bridge and the first big cove on your left is Morgan. Lots and lots of shallow water in the upper end. I would imagine the carp are still there.
While crappie fishing this weekend I noticed on several occasions there were carp jumping in the shallows water at Jordan lake, my question is.
Does anyone know where there is a higher concentration of carp at in this lake. I would love to take a break from crappie and shoot some carp with my bow, thanks for the help.

I bowfished Jordan a lot back in college. This time of year you should be able to find all you want around grass beds and bushes up most creeks. Are you going at night or during the day?

Thank you very much limit I do appreciate it and look forward to getting some with my bow. It is a sport I did all the time in Michigan but have not done so in about five years. Well thanks again limit.
Ltmcleod This would be a day event, the boat I have here is not set up for night carp shooting.
Have you tried catching them with rod and reel? When I was growing up we would hook into these things in our river and they will absolutely wear you out. We would catch most in the 20 to 25 pound range and they are pound for pound one of the hardest fighting fish I've dealt with. We always released them but some folks loved to eat 'em. Man they could stink a boat up with their slime.
Yes I have but I have grown to love the sport of bow fishing, didn't really think much about Jordan having them untill I seen them jumping. My buddy thought they were bass until one jumpers close enough to us that we could make what it was.
Sounds like fun. I see a lot of boats out there occasionally and they can light half that lake up with the lights they use. I heard them hooping and hollering one night after shooting a pretty good size one. I'm pretty sure I heard the word carp amongst many many bad words. I think they had a competition going on because there were 5 or 6 boats out doing the same thing.
There's a ton of them in Jordan. Nothing huge but we had many 100+ fish nights with fish in the 2-5 lb range
