Thread: Tillery?

i messed around monday a bit, it was real slow, you can get enough to stink the pan out of rocky creek but mostly small, talked to a guy that is friends with the wildlife guys that electro shock, he said as far as big crappie on the yadkin chain tuckertown was the place to be, i was real suprised but im not the one electro shocking either

Couple of the students here at my school went Wed afternoon. Got a late start but pulled out 4 nice ones and a lot of perch in about an hour. Looks like they were in the coves a little then. This cold front has probably pushed them back out to mouths or at least to the bottom. They were pulling jigs.

I have always heard Tuckertown was a good lake, but I have a different thought process than the people doing the shocking. There are some huge crappie in Blewett Falls, I have seen them, but catching them is another story. Just takes time to learn all the places we like to fish. Blewett has lots of catfish, but I fished it for years before I started regularly catching catfish. I have spent some time crappie fishing, but from what I can tell, you have to be there in the right place at the right time. I have pulled quite a few nice crappie from Tillery, and have had some very nice ones 1.5lb+ given to me one day by a guy who fishes the lake a bunch.

You won't find any CCA fishing the 2017 classic on Tillery/Badin, because they are off limits starting March 1, 2017. I'm sure after the classic you will be able to get more information. There might be some members out there who are not fishing the classic who could help you out some.

You are correct. Geez, I was just telling that fellow that he probably wont see many post post about Tillery because of the reasons stated above.
