    Default Minnows

Just wonder what everyone's thoughts are on what stores have the best price, quality & count on minnows near Jordan, Harris & Falls lake respectively?

For Harris, the Jordan Lake Dam mini-mart right off of #1 is a good place. Most of the time the minnows are usually quite lively and decent sized. For Jordan, the Wilsonville store usually has the best minnows in the area. The guy is going to count them one-by-one, but you usually get decent minnows. For Falls, I like the Outhouse Tackle on Six Forks road as you go from Raleigh to the lake. I've also gotten some good minnows from the Exxon up on Hwy. 98.

For Harris I use The Tacklebox off 55 since I'm coming from Fuquay and it's on the way. Good guys run the place and they have decent selection of gear. They kinda count them but you'll always end up with more than you asked for. Not sure I'm allowed to post the price but they charge $2/dozen for crappie size. Feel free to edit my post and remove the price.

The market across from Wilsonville stores I think is the best, those girls are so busy in the morning they just scoop and pour. You buy 4 dozen and you will end up with about 7-8

Thanks for the input everyone. I rarely buy minnows. That is why I asked. I usually troll jigs but haven't been able to get on them yet this spring with that technique. What is the going price for a dozen minnows? Stopped at a place off Highway 54 and they wanted $2.49/dozen. Seemed high.

I think Wilsonville is $1.69. Most are around this price close to the lake.

I wish these places sold them by the pound. I spend a small fortune on minnows. Good thing about this time of year you don't need very many minnows.
