There were some really nice crappie weighed in today at the Carolina Crappie Assn. tournament on Harris. One of those was a 2.1 lb.'er from my fishing partner Charles. As you can see, it is a beautiful fish and a happy man holding it. Charles and his wife decided to retire to NC so he could catch those slab crappie he had been reading about. His hard work and effort has paid off. He is now officially a "slab catcher" and member of the Two Pound Club.

During practice on Friday, I also had a chance to catch my first two pound crappie. As you can see from the picture of the scale, it weighed in at 2.40. The amazing thing is that five minutes later, I beat my new best weight with a 2.46 crappie. And, as life goes, I was not able to catch any two pounders today during the tournament. We still weighed in over 11 pounds which was also the best for us as a team.
