Nice work there Pete. Congrats on the tagged fish, that's special for sure. Thanks for sharing. When you catch a tagged fish on the Roanoke river, it's a pretty long time before you hear anything back from the NC wildlife. They will send you a paper telling where, when, date and how big the fish was when they tagged it. Also the distance from where it was tagged to where you caught it. Those tags( yellow ) are, or use to be worth $5.00 or a hat.

Heard back from wildlife today for those who are interested
The fish was tagged in Mid April. One of the first few fish tagged with the program. I asked lots of questions about Norman all together.
Fish grew exactly 3 inches since April (17.8 inches to now 20 3/4 incjes.
Didnt travel too far from area tagged
Less than 100 tagged fish have been caught/reported. Approx another 200 out there.
Hybrids are doing better than expected on Norman

Lastly i asked if there was ever a chance of them stocking stripers on Norman and got a very quick "Absolutly No" unless the state changes their plans. He did say that there will always be a few striper in LKN that sneak theough the upper and lower dam. I agree with that comment because last spring I caught a handfull of 18-19 inch fish.
Full day 1/2 day or evening Striper/Crappie fishing trips available at a very affordable price for
Lake Norman, Badin, Wateree, High Rock.

The hybrid fishing slowed way down on norman the later part of the week. I am still waiting on my check for tag #314. If you know anybody in the market I have 2 electric downriggers for sale in the classified section.
