Nice calm day! When I GI I'm sure there will be whitecaps!
Went out to Harris yesterday to see how fast a man can melt in an aluminum boat (spoiler, about 5 hours).
Drove around and tried many different locations from deep to shallow without a bite. I decided to try some places with cover and BAM, non stop crappie action for 30 minutes. My guess is I caught roughly 20-25 in that 30 minutes with the average being 12" and not a single non keeper, but I only bothered to measure the ones I was taking home. After 30 minutes of trying to tend two poles the heat caught up with me and I decided I better find some a/c.
It was a great day and I'm very excited to try fishing this spot again very soon. I've been fishing Harris for almost 2 years now and this is the first "honey hole" I have found on my own.
Brought home 6 nice sized crappie for dinner, the others were released and warned I would return soon.

Nice job. It takes some searching but once you find a couple holes it makes life nice. I have a couple that I catch fish every time. Although one hole might be cold the other hole might be hot. When you find a hot one look around for the same conditions elsewhere and give it a go. Chances are other crappie will be doing the same thing somewhere else. Plus this gives you a back-up in case someone else is on your honey hole.

Fished Harris a lot before moving to SC. Thanks for your post--precious memories!
