Weldon Rock Fish!!!

Decided to take a couple days off this week and hit the river. Fished Wednesday and Thursday. 3 of us fished Wed and caught 30-35. All but one of the fish were over 18". We had our limit of 6 by 9am. Couple between 22-27" Yesterday me and another buddy fished. Pretty slow early in the morning but it picked up around lunch time. Caught 20 or so. Only 2 were under 18" I think we had one over 22" We stopped measuring after we had our limit. Caught all the fish drifting live shad. Had to find a school and stay on them. Here are a few pics.

Nice catches!! How far down from the big rock were you fishing? I was there Tue-Wed-Thur and got my limit all three days, and stayed mostly below the power lines. Really windy yesterday!

Mike we were maybe 1/2 mile pass the rock We found a stretch about 400 yards that had a couple schools of good fish. Fished the same area both days. Lots of boats close to the big rock when we headed in.

Honestly I think it was because the weather tanked the night before.

Thanks buzzbait. We fished down past the power lines 3 days last week and caught our limit every day. I felt blessed, a lot of people struggling to catch a fish. I think I saw y'all as we went by one morning with a couple fish on. Heading back for a few days this week with my father in law and son.

We fished about 3/4 way up to Halifax from Scotland Neck after seeing the overflow of the Weldon ramp yesterday. Very slow for everyone we talked to. We caught 1 keeper and 1 in the slot.
