Shadboy, when put a fish finder on a boat should I power it on its own battery to lessen the interference?
Or is it OK to hook to the starting battery/trolling battery and wrap the wires in a plastic sleeve?

Thank a Veteran every chance you get.
I can only say what I do which may not be the best way. I hook mine straight to the cranking battery with an inline fuse. I also put the transducer cable in convoluted tubing and try to route it away from engine harnesses or any wires going to an electric motor. I really don't know the correct way to do it, you should post your question on the electronics board. There are lots of tech guys over there that will be glad to give you their input.
Thanks shadboy. That's the way I've done it in the past but wanted to know if you or anyone else did it that way or differently.
However I seem to get alot of feedback noise that shows up on the top 3 ft on the finder.
Thanks you again for the info.
