I had a very similar setup for years and years with no problems.
I have a 12 volt trolling motor, pro xl 1 bank charger (5amp) exide 31 deep cycle battery (115 amp/20hrs), wanting to get another 31 battery and run them parallel. My question is will the charger be able to handle charging both battery's, and 1-2 days isn't a problem. Debating if I will need to get a bigger charger with more amp

You should have no problems as long as you dont run them dry one night and need them 6 hours later.
I use to have the same setup too. I could go over to Kerr and fish every day for a week with no problems.

All, what I am about to tell you may seem hard to believe...I put a T M battery in my boat 8 years ago...called a Monster V 30 that I found and purchased online. I keep thinking I need to replace it but it keeps on charging and holding as long as I want to fish. I have a dual bank charger I purchased from Cabella's at the same time I installed the battery. This Deep cycle battery is the toughest thing I have ever owned. I just looked up this battery...they are now calling it a Smart Battery...I paid a tad over $300 for mine 8 years ago...shipped free. They are now quoted at $999...plus shipping!!! WOW!!! Smiles, G
