Heading out in a few. I'm bored, and can't think of a better idea.
As of Monday the 11th the gates are still locked! Did see two guys launch a boat out of Bells church fishing pier.

Considering going to Lake Lucas soon, never fished the Lake, any advice for this time of year would be appreciated.
Odd story from Jordan the other day... I was sitting on the bank, watching a bobber do nothing, and I heard a radio come up behind me. A deputy stopped by to look at the lake and flooding. We spoke for a few minutes and she told me that the WRC had contacted them to see if anyone on the lake had reported a missing boat. Apparently someone had anchored their boat off of their property (i'm guessing) before the flooding started, and the water rising had caused it to unhook. WRC had found the boat down the lake some, and were looking for it's owners. Is it a normal practice to leave your boat floating out on the lake? I've only been able to fish from shore, so I don't know how many people have their own docks and such on the lake. Just seemed odd. You would think that people would know the lake was rising if they lived on it, and get their boat pulled before it got too bad.

There are no private docks and only one marina. It either came from the marina or one of the campgrounds. People do tie their boat to a tree while camping in one of the campgrounds and maybe the water came up too fast to save it.
Just guessing but I think the water will be low enough for the ramps/access to be open on jordan for this weekend. Where do you think the crappie will be? North Farrington bridge or south towards Ebenz..??
My recommendation would be to fish Harris and skip Jordan for a couple of more weeks. I just checked and the Jordan level is at 226.5, still a little over ten feet above normal. I know you can catch crappie on Harris and it is just a short drive down the road. I did a little research and over the past three days, Jordan has dropped the following: .62, .67 & .68 each day. At this rate, it will take at least two weeks to get back down to normal, provided we don't get any more accumulating rain.
We'll Harris is twice the distance and about a $6 toll road away so I'd much rather go to Jordan if the ramps are open. Even if it is a little high.. If anyone drives by Farrington please let us know if the gate is open
