There were a number of people on the pier last Saturday. I would expect they are after bream and catfish right now.
Thanks to the folks who directed me to the Harris Lake pier where the crappie tourney was held. This was the pier that I'd been looking for, off Exit 84 and past the brick yard. Finding the right road meant driving probably four or five miles, a little farther than I thought, but not so far that I didn't find it. Tried my hand at fishing at this pier but no bites, but that's all right. I just was scouting it out. There's no light at the pier itself, though there are lights in the parking lot. The pier looks like it might hold some nice crappie in the spring and probably right now at night with lanterns. Flatfoot

I love the ramp there. The Holliman's ramp is too steep for my pontoon boat.
