    Default High Rock Smallmouth Bass

About eight thirty this morning on my way to do a little work i stopped at Buttle Creek and noticed a man fishing from the bank with minnows. He said that he had caught a small mouth bass. I quickly replied they don't live in here in High Rock, but i wanted to see it anyway (thinking it was a warmouth perch or something ). I looked into his bucket and sure enough it was a small mouth bass. "Well NOW, .... don't you see! I would not have believed it, if i hadn't seen it. This was a big surprise for me. How many of you guys out there have ever caught a small mouth in High Rock?

It was just a matter of time before small mouths reached High Rock. They have been caught in the Yadkin River for years now upstream through Davie, Forsyth, Yadkin & more counties towards Kerr Scott Lake.

I have not caught one yet but I saw one caught in a tournament and had a friend catch one a while back. I have personally caught about 6 spotted bass that are also up the Yadkin like the smallmouth. One spotted bass was caught while I had a sports writer in the boat.
