This tanic water we have down east grows some nice crappie. I live in Fayetteville and we don't have the big lakes so we have to look a little harder. Nice report
My wife and I gave each other an early Christmas present this past week. Its a Nucanoe Frontier 12 Tandem rigged. I plan on doing a review after a few more trips on the water. So far we are very happy with the boat. Anyway Sunday morning we decided to take it crappie and bass fishing on a small 25 acre lake in my parents neighborhood. We took three dozen minnows and also had a few jigs rigged up. I caught one largemouth right away on a minnow in our first spot but couldn't find a hungry crappie, we moved a couple times without any luck with the minnows. On our next move the wife pulls out a three inch white curly grub puts it on a chartreuse 1/16 head and starts slamming some really nice crappie. She got five to the boat and the smallest was around 13 inches. The biggest was over 15 inches and I have attached a pic. We didn't catch a single crappie on minnows, I did catch an 8 incher on a standard sized chartreuse grub but that was it. The wife has shown me up several time this year and I used to fish or a living! Yikes, and we haven't even made it to our one year anniversary yet. Fun day nonetheless.
