Default Jordan Lake Water Level Chart Over Past Two Weeks

Thought this might be of interest to some of you. There's nothing we can do about the lake level except adjust our fishing style, but it does show going from a drought with low-water to how heavy rains influence the level. Problem is, if you look at the top chart, the lake level may not have peaked. Unless we get more rain, which they have not forecast, the peak is near because from the bottom chart you can clearly see how the water flow coming down the Haw River has gone way back down.

Here is the weblink--just click on Haw River and Jordan Elevation: To view recent flows and stages in the Cape Fear River Basin

I live in Fayetteville and the Cape Fear is 18' high this morning. The Corp will probably hold some water in Jordan until the Cape Fear crest in Fayetteville. The catfish fishermen here have enjoyed a nice low river at summer and can't complain. They will also have to wait for this to cycle out. I'm going to the coast in two weeks. Don't think all this fresh water will help.

Corps is going to increase discharge from Jordan starting today so they think it will likely start going down (5.1 ft above guide curve).

They are doing a great job and Jordan is doing what it was built for. The Cape fear crested in Fayetteville yesterday.
