Default Jordan Lake Top Shelf Fishing Festival Operation North State

Ok Guys here we go!!!! October 3rd we will have our first annual Top Shelf Fishing Festival!!!! I am super excited I was able to get Lake Jordan on the list. I know that many of you have already expressed interest in fishing in this event. This is totally free for our wounded warriors and disabled veterans. I know that many of you have already reached out to me and want to be a fishing host for this event. I want this to be the official sign up thread. Let me give everyone a little info on this event to those that haven't seen any of my posts on here. Operation North State is a non profit organization that started out by sending care packages to NC deployed troop. The care packages were filled with products made in NC. Then Terry (founder of Operation North State) came up with Top Shelf Fishing Festival. This gives us a chance as volunteers to give back to the ones that have fought for our freedom!!! We get the privilege to take a wounded warrior or disabled veteran out for a day of fishing and make a new friend! I have been volunteering for these events since the first one. There is nothing better than seeing the smiles on these men and women when they get a day outdoors and making new friends!!! If you decide to sign up and volunteer to take out one of our guests you will need to make sure to have fishing equipment and life jackets for the guests. Some of these men and women will have a care giver with them and will also be going on the boat as well. So if you sign up and cannot take the guest and care giver and only have room for 1 person on your boat please let me know in your reply so I can mark you down accordingly. Ok I could go on and on about these festivals but if you want to see go to Operation North States Facebook page and check out the pics from all of the events this year. I am pretty sure there are a couple of guys on here that have fished in these festivals with me and can also tell you this is one awesome event and something you don't want to miss!!! These events are do cost some money to put on so we are always looking for donations to help pay for the things we cant get donated. I takes about 4,000 cash to put on one of these events to purchase things that we cant get donated. So if any of you know some one or a company that would like to donate please reach out to me let me know. All of the donations will go 100% of the festival and any donations are left over they roll over to the next event so the group of wounded warriors and disabled veterans can enjoy the next event. Like I said at the first part Operation North State is 100% nonprofit!!!! all of our funds go to giving back to ones who gave all for us. We are all volunteers at Operation North State. This is a Crappie/ Bass Festival so lets see how many crappie guys we can get signed up I know there are some great crappie fishing guys on Jordan Lake and I have had the privilege to fish with quit a few of them. I will have a Flier posted on here soon. If you would like for me send you an email with the flier attached please send me your email address and I will. One last thing when you reply to sign up please give me your first and last name and what kind of boat and size you will be bringing. Also if you will be fishing for bass or crappie. I am looking forward to hearing from everyone!!
Please call if you have any questions. 336-978-3737.

    Lets get the list going!!!!!!!!

    Shane:

You can count on "Team Beast" to volunteer as a fishing host. Here are the specifics:

2012 Tracker Targa WT18 (19' total length, W/90" Beam (7 1/2' wide)) set up for Crappie fishing
    Rated for 6 passengers
Large rear fishing area W/fixed seating for 5
Believe we can accomodate 2 Vets with their caregivers or 1 wheelchair bound Vet with caregiver
    Boat crew includes:
Captian - Dennis Reynolds (Jordan Limit)
Crewman - E. Charles Henderson (Hunter)

We'll follow the progress with this project from your posts; the weather and fishing conditions should be ideal!!!

Tried to sign up for the event in NewBern no reply. I'll try again. Maybe they'll at least have the courtesy to return message.
19ft Stratos, 120 4 stroke, riptide tm, hummingbird 859 df, can fish 14 poles.
Four mounted seats, can fish 2 Vets with handlers or 3 without.
Sorry to sound short in this post but as a former Vietnam Vet and wanting to give back to those who paid a higher price than myself, I find it hard to believe that I didn't even get a no thanks from the NewBern event.

Let's see if we can get at least 15 crappie boats for the tournament. More would be better, but lets show them that the Crappie.com guys from this area can turn out in good numbers. Fishing should be good by then and can help show the veterans a good time.
