Fishing at the Coast
Hey Crappie folks, I just got back from the coast and struck gold -- 22 NICE sea mullet (mostly in the evening and night) along with a million skates while fishing on the pier, a NICE blue and a three foot shark while surf fishing, and puffers. That southwest wind was tough but it brought in the fish. Baits of choice were freshest shrimp you could find, gotcha plugs for most of the blues, and chartreuse fish bites for whatever. The lady and me went down a couple of weeks ago to Hatteras. Tackle shops reported ( DRUM BITE IS ON ) Cold front came in that weekend We caught some nice black drums and few whitings Had a couple strangers hang out on the beach with us

I have some friends that just got back from Topsail area, and the fishing report was about the same. Mullet, puffers, and skates and a bonus shark lol
