Leave caps loose so pressure can excape when tanks are not in use.
I have a little 14' double wide jon that I have recently purchased two 3 gallon tanks from walmart to place in the back of the boat to get a little more foot room in the center of the boat. I filled the tanks last weekend and took the boat to the coast to rabbit hunt the spit islands south of Topsail, no luck hunting. Last night I went into the garage and the tanks have leaked out quite a bit of gas over the last couple of days, probably a half cup each. Is there any way to keep these 3 gallon tanks from leaking due to expansion and contraction? The lids were on tight.
Thanks, Fishengineer

Leave some headspace for expansion.
