Got a bucket of shiners and headed to Hickory to try from some stripers and perch Saturday morning. Hit the headwaters hoping to see some yellow perch but the water was 42 degrees and lifeless. After an hour and a half of slow trolling all sizes of shiners, we gave up and headed down the lake past 127 bridge.
Looked around down there and found some bait and marks (nothing impressive) at 50ft in 70 fow. We dropped the minnows down and drifted around the bait. We caught one scrawny white perch and that was it for the day. Best signs of life were near the mouth of gun-powder.
If anyone has some tips for patterning the yellow perch on Hickory I sure would appreciate it.

We had the same luck trolling artificial bait Saturday and Sunday. The bite had been good the 2 weeks before down in the lower end of the lake but this weekend nothing.
