    Default Best Striper Lake

Some time back I was looking at an ad for a place on one of the lakes in NC for striper fishing. Really like the size of them monster stripers. In what order do you folks to be the best striper lakes there?
    Thanks for your imput.

BB Martin is a bigggg stripes lake . We some huge ones over here. Most of the locals claim they have killed the crappie population by stocking them.

I'll have to look around there and see if I can find the place I had found before. Just can't remember which lake it was on. Thanks for the input.

Are you looking for a NC lake list or a south eastern list?

In the south east, I'd have to say that East Tennessee is the place to be. There are several lakes to choose from there. Good numbers of large fish.

Most folks from NC and SC that want a trophy striper ,heads west to Tennessee.Fort Louden, Melton Hill,Watts Bar,to name a few.Several NC folks guide for the big fish up there.

I don't know of any NC freshwaters that consistently produce big stripers unless it's Bugg's Island. They're probably some other places, but they're secrets to me. We have places where you can catch some stripers in the teen's pretty regularly but a 25 or 30 pounder is hard to come by. There is a huge NC saltwater striper fishery that produces loads and loads of trophy fish.

Monster striper in this large lake. Striper fishing is an industry there. Great lake for spots, too.

Of course, there is the jewel, Lake Hiwassee. I used to fish it a lot for SM, LM, walleye and cats. But the last two state records ( currently 66 pounds) came from there. I never caught a striper, myself. What a beautiful lake, though.
