Default Rhodhiss - 4-20-2004 fishing not catching.

Got to Rhodhiss about 9:30 water temp 58 at landing, went to John Berry, main lake temp 55. 52 behind the islands. Caught 2 dinks on main lake in front of the islands Went behind the islands, zero, back to the main lake from John Berry to Valdese water intake, zero. Crossed the lake and fished the mouths of 2 small coves, zero. Water temp 59. Went into the Goat Farm, saw water as warm as 62 plus, zero. Long lining 1/32 oz jigs, no minnows today. Changed speed and colors nothing seemed to help. The fish I saw were in 16 to 20 feet of water in Goat Farm. Main lake I graphed fish in 14 ft. Saw several guys fishing the bank and none admitted catching anything. I just cannot solve Rhodhiss.

How do you get 1/32 down that deep. You may be well above the fish.

Could very well be too far above them. I can get 10 ft at .3 gps speed with 1/32. I also stop and drop to the bottom at times. Boat control is critical and I am still learning.

Don't feel bad whizkids. I tried all last summer and fall yo catch a striper and no luck. went fishing for crappie a week ago wednesday and caught 1 9" and 2 really nice coon tails, that was a great trip for me to rhodhiss. I only live 3 miles from castle bridge so it is very easy for me. I don't have a job or any income at this time so i will be fishing very little. I do however plan to go wed. and I'm not sure wher to fish rhodhiss or go to gunpowder. May try crappies for awhile and then maybe cats or just crappie all day. this weather has got the fish so messed up they don't know what to do either!!!!!!!! don't know much about long line trolling, talked to two older fellows that troll 1/8 oz roadrunners at .08 mph. I thied that and they were bumping bottom at 20 fow so i don't know how to tell how deep your jis run at a certian speed? any help appricaited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
