Default Lake Tillery 06-16-13 night stalk

Fished ole Tillery last night. Started fishing just before 8 and left at 3. Managed about 15 crappie, the biggest being 1.78 pounds. First time I ever used the submersible lights to fish. I dropped them right off the side of the boat. Should I have gotten them further away from the boat? I fished main channel points. I tried in the middle of a major creek but only managed one fish. I wasn't sure about how deep to set the rods. Any suggestions? Well it was a blast, and I know I got alot of learning to do with the night stalks.

There is no need to fish any deeper than 10 or 12 feet. The light will bring the fish up no matter how deep the water you're fishing in. The crappie will be hanging out just outside the lighted area. That is where your hooks needs to be.
