Quick report from the last couple days. Fished penny's bend sun afternoon. Caught a few fish but nothing like sat. Went back mon morning. 6am till 8am. Caught around 15 with 5 or 6 good fat females. Mon night... Wow penny's bend was a zoo. Did not even stop. Fished a spot on the Flatt and again we caught around 15. All males. Back to penny's bend this morning before the sun came up. Bite was pretty slow for me. Other people were doing pretty good. Seen a bunch of big fish pulled out from the other side of the river. This afternoon hit the same spot on the Flatt. Caught 10 all were keepers but no females. Jerk bait and cork and jig.

Fished above the trestle yesterday, water is WAY UP!! and super stained. But I did get out there with my hip waders. The sandbar was under about 4 foot of wader, current was following fast. Needless to say did not catch a single fish, but I did call in a owl that lit on a tree on the other side of river from me. Thought I might get hear a turkey gobble with all the talking me and that bird were doing. Through everything but the sink, but no luck

Took the day off tomorrow to see if I can catch a few.. I will be at penny's bend before the sun comes up. Going to try at the parking lot 1st then hit the Flatt river. I have heard that they have been catching bigger females in the Flatt. I will see. I will post a report tomorrow afternoon.

Hit penny's bend around 5:30am. Started off in the large pool below the parking lot. Fished till about 7:30 fishing was pretty slow. We decided to make our way up river. Good move. We ended up catching around 25 in the next 1.5 hrs. Bite slowed so we left and tried a spot on the Flatt. No big females but we caught another 10 or 15 small males. We decided to call it a day around 11:30. I had to ride by penny's bend on my way home so I decided to try it 1 more time in the large pool. I stayed till 1. Bite was not red hot but hot enough to keep me interested. I guess I caught another 7 or 8 nice size males. All our fish were caught on white rooster tail and jerk bait. All in all a pretty good day. Still wondering where all the big females swam off to???
