    Default Jordan crappies looking healthy

My plan with the nice weather was to go to Tillery (which is a new lake to me) and look for some stripers and then Striperjunkie put a pic of a nice crappie on Facebook. Talked to him and a couple other guys about my plans and decided to leave it up to Zach weather to head to Tillery and look around or go to Jordan and try for some crappie . . . he chose the crappie.

Got to the lake at about 8am and fished around 64 for 3 hours. Went through 6 dozen minnows and ended up catching 87 total with 15-20 being keeper size. Sent all but a few for lunch back to swim. Water was down a bit and around 51 degrees with good color. Caught fish from 30' up to about 18' of water. Most of the fish were in that 9"-9 3/4" range and were very fat and healthy looking with great color. They looked really healthy. Biggest fish was 11 3/4" and smallest was about 4". LOL Only saw 5 other boats there when we got off at 11:30 and saw three of them keeping short fish. Made a call to a friend who is friends with a local gamewarden to try and get him over there and hand out some tickets for keeping the shorties. He didn't show before I left, but hopefully he came by and made the wildlife department some money. No other boats on the water till almost 10, and saw several on there way as we were leaving. It was an absolute beautiful day on the water.

Nice catch.. unfortunately you are wasting your time calling the wardens, they are understaffed and cannot handle the countless violations that are occurring on a regular basis.... between litter and illegal catches, nets being used by a certain group of people who have no regard for our laws our water and land, they do whatever they want without repercussion, when you approach them they pretend to not understand you and continue to go about their corrupt ways!! I have taken photo's, videos, and even jotted down plate #'s none of this has helped our cause to protect the land and waters we hunt and fish.
