Default Norman this Thursday and Friday

this past February, put out bamboo cemented into the middle of cinder blocks and dropped in some coves in 15-25 feet of water. From what I've read, this might be a good bet about now.

I've spent almost 40 years fishing primarily the areas from Hager's Creek up to around Marker 10. Fishing is not near what it was in the early years and has changed quite alot. I'd like to try some new spots at Norman. I've read a few times that the fishing is better up above the 150 bridge. Can anyone comment on that? Also, can anyone note some good creeks up that way?

    Thanks,
    TW

Recently I've been fishing in the State Park and close to Stumpy Creek ramp. I haven't caught a boatload but good sized fish. Some friends have been fishing up river from the State Park at night and have done very good.

How far from the bridge to the state park? Also, where is Stump Creek?
    Thanks,

If you are at the bridge going north the first cove on the right is Stumpy Creek. The third cove on the right is the State Park area.

Go under the power lines and the State Park branches off to the right.

Well, I decided that since I spent all that time putting bamboo in the water in January, it would be foolish not to check those spots out first. We caught one small bass and one 9" crappie. Decided to try around marker 12 which we caught one crappie over Labor Day weekend. We caught 3 nice crappie and 2 nice bass. Well, I didn't have my depth finder with me, but we must have been fishing close to 35' deep. We're going to try it again tomorrow. We may head north after lunch if we don't do any good around marker 12. I'm in a 14' Green Ouchita boat with a 35hp Johnson.

How was the day any better? I got to the ramp and my boat wouldn't start. I came home and pulled the fuel line and it was crystallized. Replaced all the lines and cleaned the tank and it fired right up so I am headed out Sunday.
