    Default Rhodhiss, Fri night

Ran down to Rhodhiss with Chugbug friday night, set up on a point in 34' of water. Dropped lights @ 9:30, water temp 86 degrees. Fished till @ 1am, caught 11 nice crappie & a couple of small catfish. All crappie caught on minnows, could not get em to touch a jig.

Thanks for the report. I've been thinking of a night run to Rhodhiss. Dropped lights 3 weeks ago at Jordan and only had one keeper. Lots of small fish down there. Hoping for better at Rhodhiss.

I went out on the Hiss Sat nite with not to much success, but I was not fishing in that deep of water. Did catch plenty of white pearch, and a few crappie with 1 good size one. Probly go back this weekend and will try the deeper water. Thanks for the report, glad to hear the good size ones are still there and biting!!
Difference between day and night: Day= one rod, one jig/Night= Many rods & a bucket full of minners

I just moved to the drexel/valdese area and have only been to rhodiss one time just to burn the old gas outa the boat. God brought us here to join New Beginning Missionary baptist Church in gamewell NC. I know Ricky Reed at "Not just fishing" but i'm pretty sure he doesn't sell minnows. Where do you find your minners sheeter? And is it possible to bottom bounce for crappie in the daytime on this lake?

    Cat -
Not Just does sell minnows, had a big tank in back room last time i was there. You can also purchase them across from Hospital at convenience store (Discount Foods) I think is the name. Also can go west on 70, left on Knob- Rhodhiss road & in a few miles you'll find a convenience store on left that sells minnows. I've done some tightlining at Rhodhiss with poor results. Always had better luck fishing brushpiles during daylight & bridge or points at night.
Good luck with New Beginnings, If God called you to come, ya gotta have faith & follow.
