Has anyone fish there for crappie, walleye, and trout? I have never been there and I was looking at it on line an it looks like a nice lake.
Thank you and God Bless
WOW a lake you never hear about. It is beautiful and I have always wanted to just rent a pontoon boat and stay on the lake for about three days. I have never done fished it. There should be walleye and maybe sauger along with the crappie. Let me know how you do.
Check with the Tennessee folks. It's a pretty lake, but I think it's tough to fish due to the extremely clear water.
Very nice lake with extra clear water. I've never been on it, would like to someday. I went to the Bristol race once and rode along the lake on the way up in the daytime.
Douglas is close by and gets a ton of action from our Tn neighbors

I camped on it one night earlier this spring. I didnt have a pole with me, but did notice a bunch of xmas trees washed up on shore so there is definitely brush piles scattered around. The few bass fishermen I talked to were doing alright on those. Gorgeous lake though.

If you are going to go all the way to Watauga Lake, you might as well fish the tailrace below the dam or go on to the South Holston, another 20 mins west. Some of the best fly fishing for trout this side of the mississippi river. Spinning road will catch em too. Some of my buddies have a pontoon boat there and they fish for lake trout and big rainbows with lead core line or down riggers. The lake is over 300 feet in some places and gin clear. From my understanding there are some tree tops deep that you have to tangle with if you want lake trout. My buddy catches some monster spotted bass there. A few close to six pounds. I have fished for walleye there during the spawn in February. Have no idea about catching them this time of year. Pretty lake, but the tail race below the dams around there is where the fish stories are made. I use to guide on those rivers, so I'm kind of biased. Everyone loves their home water.
