Nice!!!
Pop set an all time Reynolds family record today with a massive 3 lb., 18" crappie. He was fishing with my brother Steve and nephew James in an Alamance County lake. They caught over 100, but the vast majority were throw-backs. The color jig the big one was caught on was black/blue with a charteuse tail. They also caught a lot on Acid Rain today as well. The big one was caught in 7' water while Pop was bottom-bouncing his jig as they slow-trolled around the lake. They caught several keepers when they first started fishing, but from 10:30 till this one bit at 4:30, it was slow going, except for the little ones.
My brother and his family recently moved back to Graham from Phoenix, so now Pop has someone close by to fish with him. If he keeps catching crappie this size, I'm going to have to find a way to get him fishing tournaments with me. Enjoy the pictures--truly a nice crappie, especially on a hot June day.

I asked that same question and it is going in the pan. I would be very tempted to put that one on the wall. Do any of you guys know if they can make a crappie mount from a picture much like they can the saltwater fish?
yeah the make fiberglass replicas, measure the lenght and the girth, and send a real good pic with it. most replicas are actually a bit cheaper too.
Dang that a huge slab. Congrats to your Pops
Nice fish, congrats!
May the holes in your net be no larger than the fish in it. Irish Blessing.
That's one nice slab of a crappie.Thumbs Up Congrats to Dad on a fantastic fish. Thanks for sharing the report and pictures too.
Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing.
Nice fish!!!! I know that a reproduction fish of that size will cost atleast 200.00 and I could do the real thing for cheaper .If you want you can also check out bass pro shop they offer crappie all sizes for 219.95 plus 30.00 for shipping .I would do the real fish for less than that. For a real fish skin it is cheaper!
