Fall and Winter. The fishing is good, the traffic is low, the other wildlife are around without much of a care. Mix all that with some calm weather and a cup of joe and it just doesn't get any better.
October through the spawn; cause it ain't hot

Anytime other than the spawn, too aggravating between the once a year fisherman and the it cranked last year boaters.
Give a man a fish, feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish, he'll sit in a boat and drink beer all day.
Spring and fall
I voted spring but that was due to the fact that there wasn't an answer of "yes".. mean all year.
I may be the only one to say this. But I absolutely love fishing for crappie on summer and fall nights. I always do well. The reason I like nights is because there is little boat traffic and you escape the hot sun. On many, many nights I have fished under the Hwy 64 bridge and caught hundreds per trip. I almost always take home a limit of keepers. To spice things up, I like to also have a catfish rod or two out and I take some big channel cats for fillets. I just try not to have my lights competing with the moon so dark nights usually yield the best results. And to make the matters even better, I have been flashed by young hunnies a few times while they were cruising and partying. The real secret is patience because it may be awhile before the bite turns on. But when it does. I can only keep up with one rod. This is an actual quote from my wife on one outing. She remarked after a few hours of non stop action, "Don't you get tired of catching all those fish?" My quick answer was, "See, and all this time you thought I was having fun!"
Fish on!
Gotta go, fish on!
