    Default Jordan Lake report 3-26-11

Spent the day at Jordan Lake with a friend that was down from Cold and Snowy Wisconsin, we were sure it would rain but somehow we luckily managed to have a completely dry but cloudy day.

Fished Bush Creek once again, my friend Dave tight lined for his first time from the front of the boat and I long lined off the back. Name: IMG_8053.jpg

We fished shallow early but moved out into the creek and found a steady bite between 7and 9 feet deep. During the day the bite kept changing from better fishing tight lining to better fishing long lining. Just goes to show how many fish are probably missed by using only one method to catch fish.

All fish caught on plastics, and minnow tipped plastics but the majority that were caught today were caught without minnows. No plastic color stood out as best because all colors used seemed to work at one time or another throughout the day.

Easily caught both our limits and released probably another 20 keepers and many smaller Crappie along with a single white Bass. Name: IMG_8055.jpg

All fish that were kept measured between 10 ½ up to the largest fish of the day at 14 1/4 inches long. Name: IMG_8060.jpg

I'm thankful this fish was Dave's as it was the largest Crappie he has ever caught, beating his previous 13" record from Jordan lake during last years trip. Name: IMG_8057.jpg

Not many boats out on Jordan fishing for Crappie today, Im sure due to the social at High Rock and the threat of rain today, but almost comically (especially due to last weeks "Bass Boat" post) there were Bass boats flying past us all day long. One would fly past us one direction then 10 minutes later after it left another would repeat the same routine........on and on and on.
But I do have to thank the drivers of the 2 boats that actually were considerate and waited until they were past us to hit the throttle, it was noticed and truly appricated.

Perfect day on the water spent with a great friend.

    Kim

More pictures of fish in the kitchen!! I need to show my wife and lobby for the Right to stink-up the sink... interesting to hear whether Tightlining or Longlining was better...my little boat is rigged for either/or (but not both) right now, next chance I get to perform an "Engineering Change" on my rig, I am going to do so!

good job guys, thanks for the report.

Very nice post brother Kim. Glad to see you could show Dave a great day on the water while he was in God's country visiting.
It was interesting to read the way you report that the bite was somewhat "back and forth" favoring tightlining and then longlining.
Nonetheless, it sounds like you guys made a great day of it and had a couple of good limits to show for that great day on Jordan.

Thanks for sharing your great day with a friend on Jordan Lake.
