Default Jordan 3/20 great day... BUT

Well I fished by myself (unfortunately) for 6 hours at Jordan today and caught 54 with 10 keepers... the largest being 13 inches (can't seem to break the 13" mark to save my life it seems). Caught them all on minnows about 10-12 feet deep. The day had off and on heavy wind and the boat traffic was HORRIBLE.

People were flying by so fast and huge wakes would rock the boat big time. The craziest part of the day was watching a ski boat pulling a skier literally dodging in and around fishing boats where I was fishing. I can honestly say I was not the only person who was not very happy about that.

I can already see that Jordan is not so great a place to fish on the weekends now that it has warmed up. Thank goodness I can fish 7 days a week... lol... nccrappiegirl

I feel your pain, went to TT cause we were short of time today, boat traffic and wind pretty rough. Got a place out of traffic and started catching fish right at time to leave to get little Quacker home in time for her sleep-over. Tried to fish Flat Swamp but don't like leaving my truck a half mile from the boat ramp on the side of the road

nice catch! I was thinking about going to jordan tomorrow but you may have changed my mind about the boat traffic. It's hard to believe some folks have made it as far as they have the way they act on the water. Glad you had a good time!

Sounds like you got it going on Crappie Girl. If it's not skier's, it's those flying bass boats.

Default We got skunked (except for one bass)

Would you mind sharing what you've been doing with a relative newbie? I took my daughter to Jordan yesterday. We fished jigs and minnows at two bridges (64 and Farrington) and in Bush Crk but couldn't get bit. Tightlined and trolled starting at 730 til about 2. Oddly enough, if my thermometer is right, the water in Bush was cooler that near the bridges. Didn't get all the way back in the creek but fished from 13' to about 7' and figured they weren't in there as we didn't see anyone else landing any. Finally got one bass on a crappie minnow off the riprap bank near the 64 bridge. Figured we were doing everything right but alas, came home empty-handed. Someone said maybe they're shallow already?? We didn't even see many fish get caught. Maybe we should have moved around more??

Sure would appreciate some advice from someone who has them dialed in.

You're right, the boat traffic was crazy later in the day. We had to leave about 2:30 and the ramp was a zoo. Is there a ramp that's any better? We put in at Farrington. Since it's me and my daughter, taking out is a hassle because I have to drive the truck and boat. You couldn't even get to the dock to tie up while I went and got the truck. I guess it's time to teach her to drive one or the other.

PS: Hate you had to fish by yourself. We would have been glad to keep you company. Let us know next time if you want share a boat or just hang aroud the same water with someone.
