Yellowdog, It's the only public ramp on the lake, there are some private ones though. There is one at the store/marina behind the fuel docks. I don't no who whould be in charge of that one but it would be your best bet.
Is the state ramp at the campground the only ramp on the lake? Reason I ask is that my boat has a t-top and I can't get under the bridge next to the marina. Is there a way around it or do I need to go in a boat without a top? Thanks.

Just get him on, then we'll worry about getting him in!
bowfin is a more common name that I couldn't remember earlier. they look like that invading species thats been in the news so much lately, can't remember its name either. its hard gettin old. but they more solid colored, usually black or dark brown. real common down east, but we used to catch a lot here when we set turtle hooks.
almost forgot, caught bout 50 crappie at Hyco yesterday. just fished half a day. waited for it to warm up...it never did. lakes up about a foot or so an muddy. had 20 good eaters, 10-12 inches. they hit the bucktails best, unusual in muddy water. the water had cooled from 58 to 53, all the ice I reckon.
Hey Doc, Do you know if there is a fee to launch a kayak at Hyco since it does not require a ramp or does the fee include any vessel that floats on the lake. Thanks in advance FB
