I've never fished Blind Sodus - and it's maybe all of 15 minutes from the house. Don't know anybody that knows where to launch. A friend has a friend that says it's full of big fat slabs, but never fished it. I'm guessing the water should be hard right about now, and that you're gonna be fishing through a hole in the ice.
