Sounds like you too had a wonderful day making memories.
Fished Lamoka Tues and did really well so took grandson Thurs and we did very well. Broke him in on operating 15hp motor, starting, throttle, slowing down to make turns and no sudden or jerky movements. He did really well, the smile on his face was a Kodak moment! Finished off the last of a 1000 wax worms and then he switched to night crawlers. I used gulp wax worms and was getting them 2 at a time when the grandson wasn't having techincal problems. Always take 3-4 poles with us and usually working/untangleling at least one while he is fishing. Last summer I made him go to push button just so I could fish but he is a BIG boy now and wants to use the open face. Heading back to FL. soon so going to go again today, when the weather co-operates it is just great fishing in up-state NY in the summer! Like to hit differnt lakes in the summer but fish Lamoka mainly, wish I had bought a place in the 70's so I could leave the boat at the Lake and not have to trailer/launch/load every time. Took a great picture of grandson running the boat so will get grand daughter to show me how to post it on here.
Sounds like you too had a wonderful day making memories.

Never hurts to start them out knowing how to run a boat. It is always good to know in the event of an emergency
The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along
Sounds like a great day on the water.
And yes, hindsight and "wish I'da done that earlier" is a curse for all of us at times.
Yes, I was talking to myself; sometimes even I have to ask for expert advice.
