Safe travels, good luck and happy fishing!
Hope your having a good time on your trip. Also hope the fish are cooperating. Tough weather to be fishing. Fished Honeoye yesterday 2:30 till 5:30 with my son's. Stickly pan fishing. Caught half a dozen Honeoye ( slob) bluegills. A few perch and only one keeper crappie. Released all from live well on at of day. Not enough to fillet. Plus the heat was exhausting. Oh,by the way 12 bass in 7-10 feet of water on 1/32nd & 1/16th jig heads with 2" grubs. Ultra elites and 4 # line.

3 days of fishing hard and not many fish---a few crappie and gills -- only 3 quarts of fillets to bring home and enough for 4 of us for dinner !!!!!!--used everything in the tackle box and no luck-----water temp was 70-71 degrees but checking the weed beds they were FULLLLLL of minnows like we have never seen before up there fishing==Bait minnows by the thousands every where----My son-in-law might be headed up there next weekend so we'll see if its better then !!!!
We had the same trouble first 3 days on the St Lawrence but the big gils turned on Thurs/Fri with the 60 something ` mornings. No pike but we all caught at least one big largemouth and released.Fun on ultalight when fishing for gils. No Crappie at either bridge but we fought the wind almost every day. Pics to come.
My son in law just got to Musky yesterday--hope the fishing got better--they are there for about 6 days !!!
Well heading down to Honeoye Friday afternoon. Have a cottage rented for the week. Spending it itch Bob my grown sons ( 37 & 35) and two grandchildren as my fishing partners. Probably bass fish from 5 am to 10 am then back to cottage for breakfast and pack a lunch for grandchildren and head back out with grandchildren, Try to locate some crappie and those Honeoye bluegill monsters for the grandchildren (7 & 4). Will make sure we have smart phones with games downloaded to keep the kids occupied Should the fishing be slow. Hopefully that won't be the case. Willpower you results. Will be interesting trying to locate crappie in the summer.
