Boy never knew that body of water held good crappie, then again never really crappie fished. Impressive, your reports start my mouth start to water thinking about how good those crappie taste.

caught several 10 to 12" and 1-- 14" which is the biggest we have caught there so far !!!!Going to fish the sister lake sunday[Waneta]
But most impressive is the fact that you continue to catch them during the summer months. Don't see much posting after the spring ( may first two weeks of June) nice to see that they are relating to the outside of a weededge. Ever try locating the school in deeper water adjacent to the weedbeds that you found them in the morning? Never fished that lake just wondering what the first dropoff after the weed edge? Search the area to relocate the school(with depth finder). 20-30 foot depth. Maybe trigger them into a feeding mood again
The Lake is pretty shallow but we do start moving around to different depths -- we still mark a lot of fish but they seem to shut down---ALSO the locals on jet skis and skiers and tubers start in about then so thinking that disturbs them !!!!
Well we will give this thread an earlier start this year. Getting a little serious this year. Have couple rods (10ft and 12 ft) on way, and a set of dual rod holders.( spider rigging, pulling or pushing cranks.
Not yet, have my son pulling the boat out of storage and do the required maintenance. Have a 3 day lake erie walleye trip scheduled May 6,7,8. Following that up with a 3 day crappie trip to Black Lake 19,20,21. Hopefully, I'll be able to fish locally before my trips start. Really took the plunge this year. Ordered a set of dual rod holders that don't require drilling of holes to mount bases to front and back platforms. They connect to the front or back cleats. Also purchased set of regular outriggers( small) and four sets of bobbers that function as outriggers also. In fact when trolling you can alternate their direction with a snap of the rod. If you were stream or creek fishing in current from shore, you could only need to make an initial cast to fish all day.
And of course, have two west point crappie rods 10 footer & 12 footer on order.(spider rigging)
Probably follow that up with a 8 foot BnM Heaton jigging rod.
So I will be expanding my presentations this year. Hopefully, it will be a productive year.
John
Waneta today, 6/7-2016. Still Low on Lamoka cause of the up-coming weed treatment. Scattered rain showers.
Lots of small gils on lower west side. Lots of wind.
