Only been out three times, and it's the middle of June!!!! GRRRR
First outing, managed 9 keepers, then the next day 20 more. Dogwood was still blooming, so I figured shallow was the ticket, and it was.
Went again last weekend, managed 4 keepers and about 100 dinks - all in the 4-8" range. I was doing drifts in deeper water after I didn't find any shallow, and the old saying that they tend to school by size proved pretty accurate. I got the 4 keepers in one area, then drifted to another spot I like, and ran into so many dinks that I had them hitting all three rods non-stop. It was an evening trip, so I didn't have time to morot back to where I got the keepers before it got dark.
Hoping to hit it again this weekend, maybe bring the grandson along.
Where are you fishing? I went out to May's point a few times and the water is still really cloudy and full of debris.
I think I'll try Seneca River next week when I'm off. Or south of Dean's Cove on Cayuga.
Wishing you Blue Skies and Tight Lines
