    Default Syracuse crappie

Hi everyone, I just moved to Syracuse from Oklahoma and am looking for some information on where to catch some crappie near Syracuse. Any good spots that you'd like to share on Oneida? Has anyone ever tried Jamesville Reservoir for crappie? Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Maybe it will stop raining long enough to get out there a give it a try!

    Hi dkmoss1010, Welcome to Crappie.com.

Glad to see we have another member here in NY.

I like fishing in Franks back yard, the Seneca River around Mays Point and further South Cayuga Lake.

I have not had much free time to fish lately, but have caught a few nice fish behind work in Canandaigua.

Hope you enjoy New York and goodluck fishing.
Wishing you Blue Skies and Tight Lines

Big bay is the one that gets the most attention on Oneida, but I'd imagine three mile bay isn't too bad this time of year. Oneida also has lots of yellow perch and walleye if you're looking to put together a fish fry with mild tasting fish. I usually have a pretty good mix at our neighborhood fish frys.

All the lakes and rivers they said are good. Look also north towards Sandy Pond and even more north the Indian River Lakes.

Anyone know of a place to get minnows near big bay early in the morning? Going to head that way from East Syracuse tomorrow. Looks like a few places like Gander Mt. and Mickey's Bait shop don't open until 9. I'm assuming some convenience store around the bay would sell minnows??
