Default Found a new small spot i hope.

I was told from a second cuzin about a place 5 min from myhome that he has been picking up about 10 keepers in the morning. I can onlyget there in late afternoon, I was told they were biting on a smoke micro tube14 inches down under a bobber twitch gently and slow. I used a ghost crappietube which is close to grey I could get and me and my little cuzin picked up 7keepers. But they were real close to shore and right up against brush hangingover the water, meaning we lost a bit of gear. Conditions……. We were fishingclose to shore 3 to 10 foot of water don’t know temp, water was semi clear wassunny around 55 degrees , sw winds with a cold front moving in. we did pick oneup with minnow, and 2 with a blue body white skirt tube. Sorry have to keepquiet it is a small lake, but there is action. Anyone else got some stuff goingon?

the "little lake" near my house isn't doing great this year. Water temp climbed way too fast with that hot spell we had. water went from low 50's to 67-68 degrees in 2 days. I'm hoping this cold snap will straighten things out, otherwise, they might skip the spawn. Have caught a lot of shorts, but only 19 keepers spread out across three outings - and had to work hard for the keepers I got. was almost like fishing a summer pattern, had to slow-troll in deeper water to get into keepers, and they were scattered.

Gonna have to work real hard, or our annual Father's Day fish-Fry will turn out to be burgers & dogs on the grill.

Lake Ontario Browns are on the agenda for Memorial day weekend, then walleye tourney June 9th. Gonna need to squeeze in some serious after work crappie outings the next couple weeks.

Shortly after I made the post a small cold front came in andshut them down. I have been grinding it out ever since. I went to Lake Alicetoday and got brim and largemouth. Not 1crappie, I can’t figure them out with this weather.

I can’t afford drifting rigs right now. I’m hoping I win thedrifter package contest with my story. I would love to not only get the gearbut also incorporate that style of fishing to my arsenal.
