Went back to Beaver Lake south of Plattsmouth yesterday and fished for a few hours.
I had my limit in 15 minutes of big 12-14 inch Crappie. Water temps were 80 degrees and had a 10-15 mph wind from the N. Most were caught in the marina area. There was a small window of opportunity between two pontoons that was about 16 inches wide. I flipped between the two and then let the minnow drop to the bottom and then brought it back to the boat about a foot off the bottom. If I didn't have a bite at the boat I would jig the bait while I reel up very slowly and had a bite within a couple of feet from the bottom.
My wife went with me and our youngest son yesterday. She was lucky enough to catch the only Walleye of the day. We had several really nice Perch and a few Bluegills to add to the livewell.
What really surprised me was that several still was full of eggs. They had a bulging belly and I just though they was just over full of food. When I filleted them out they was full of eggs and had never spawned out yet.
That is the best luck I have had in several years, 25 cast and 25 fish without a miss, and all of them no smaller than 12 inches. EB
