    Default Husker Melt Down

Wow! still don't know what happened yesterday to the Huskers!!!A fantastic first quarter and then they mat as well went home after the half. It was almost embarrassing to watch. Just showed how little Pelini knows about Coaching! There was quite a difference between the 2 Coaches approach to having something go wrong. Their Coach encouraged his players after a mistake, and Pelini just made an fool of himself after every call against the Huskers, or bad play. He belittled each of the players and wouldn't let them go until he was done and when they walked away from him, he followed them while harassing them further. Not a very good role model. Was very proud of the way the players hung in for the whole game but not so much for the Coaching staff or the play calling! When the quarterback is 1 for 10 why would you keep calling a passing play instead of trying something different to see if something else might work! EB

Beav, you sound like a "fair weather' supporter of the Nebraska football team. I didn't see much criticism when they were winning.

It is a lot like this with the Virginia Tech supporters. Happy win winning, pointing fingers when losing.

Bud Foster, VT defensive coordinator, is one of the best coaches in the country. VT is having a bad year & the natives are restless.

Bo's defense had a bad night but they have a great team. Wisconsin had a great night and you could tell by all the uncontrolled "dancing" on the sidelines.

Was this a football game or a dance contest?

    Things will get better.

I'm an Ole Miss fan and I'm sticking with them.

Bo has never been a decent role model for the team. He gets mad and cuts loose on anyone close to him. I think he has had more technicals called on him for his conduct than any other Coach. I never wanted him to start with! I still like and support the team just not this Coach. Maybe this will be the straw that breaks the Camels back for him!!! EB

Ive been a husker fan all my life, and im tired of the same ol season year after year with BO, Maybe I was spoiled in the 70's, 80's and 90's. But BO gets the 9 win seasons and keep most of the fans happy and gets to a decent bowl most of the time. We beat all the softies but struggle with the bigger boys on the block. BUT......who takes over? Do we really want another Bill Callahan? I think BO is diggn his own grave, acting a fool on the sidelines and loseing recruits aint the way to build a program. Now im just rambling cause this jus makes me mad the more I talk about it! Anyway,,,,,, GO BIG RED!!!!!!

We never had the first Bill Callahan! His program was messed with the whole time he was here and never really got a chance to see if it would work. Tom Osborn was one of the biggest distractions of Callahans program. EB

Well, they fired Bo Pelini. And I can't help but feel this is deja vu of Frank Solich again. Sigh.

Oh, I know. What/who are we gonna get?? Solich didn't get a fair shake, Callahan, imo, was mess! Bo had 7yrs, won atleast 9 games every year, NO championships,,,, conf or otherwise. They have lost countless recruits and players that have transferred. He goes alittle overboard on the sidelines ( which I don't mind to much ). I heard an interview with SUH, who said that there were more problems than just BO. I don't know what they are but I hope they had a plan before letting BO go. ALOT of schools would love to have 7 nine win seasons in a row! I have hard two names tossed out there,,Scott Frost and Jim Tressell. DonG is right Nebraska,,,,, BE CAREFULL OF WHAT U WISH FOR! Is 9 wins really so bad?? GO BIG RED!!
