Happy Bday. Glad you got to catch some.
Decided to hit the Base Lake early with all that rain we got. Knew catfish bite would be good, and it was! I will admit, the big one came first, then the weird looking one, and finally the smallest one. All put up a good fight, but eventually the catfish bite wore off and the carp and gar moved into the area where the runoff water was flowing into the Lake. Bait used was simply a large hook and a bluegill head. I'll save the catfish meat for Memorial Day Cookout.
Stitches get taken out tomorrow and I'll probably make a recommendation for physical therapy again for the knee. Maybe even a new brace.
Happy Bday. Glad you got to catch some.

Hope the surgery works out for you, Chris. It looks like the one catfish was doing a 100mph and hit a brick wall, hehe EB

6 more weeks of physical therapy, which i requested. Movement gets better every day. Still a little swollen, but ice and heat aren't helping. Just have to let it naturally go away now. For now, I am taking it easy, but also trying to enjoy the water and fishing.
They did mention that my knee cap does track to the outside sometimes when I walk, the only way to fix that would be another surgery, but more complicated as they would have to cut the medial ligament that prevents the knee cap from displacing outside and pull it tighter so it won't track to the outside anymore. They won't do that surgery because as long as the knee cap doesn't pop back out, there isn't a need to do such a drastic surgery.

Given the light that early in the morning, when I caught him, I saw the head and wasn't sure what I had caught. I theorize that maybe when it was younger, it got knocked around by some choppy water and hit its head on the rocks out there. I don't know, haha.
