Went out Sunday to Wildwood lake and ice ranged from 4-6" of cold clear ice. Caught several nice gills on some submerged trees and iced a couple crappie as well. Been hearing reports of good ice on most lakes in NE right now. There's more info on ice shanty and nefga if you want to check some lakes near you.
Hey Jordy, I got out on a humbug yesterday with a few fellas as well. Just wet the pole at Cunningham which had approximately the same ice thickness (4-6"). We did not go over to the dam- as we fished near campground. I got a few hits and several guys near us were catching crappie and bass. Nothing to write home about size wise but fish were hitting.
Year round fishing is the way to go
