I got the wrap and bandage taken off my knee this morning and was able to take a shower and clean up. Then I used the steiro lotion to sterilize the area around the knee where they made the incisions. No drainage so I don't have to cover it up again. The knee feels stable again, which it hasn't been for a long time. I should be ready for fishing by the time Spring gets here. EB

After the surgery I didn't have any pain and didn't have to use the cane or crutches. I was told I could go back to my usual routin and let the pain dectate what I could do. I got along great until the day before yesterday and was bagging leaves out of the yard and slipped and twisted my knee again. Surgeon said we will wait for about 6 weeks and see if it will take care of itself. I asked him about a knee brace and he said to hold off that I shouldn't need one yet. He said to just be really careful for now and give it a chance to heal completely. He gave me a set of the pictures of what he did and it is very interesting what they can do now surgically. EB

Eager Beaver, I can honestly say, Been there-done that. Only my surgeon knocked me out for the surgery. Impacted a cement floor with my knee after falling about 8' holding a 100 lb box I was trying to put on a storage shelf. The surgery is called orthascopic surgery. In my fall I lost 50% of the cartilage, and one tendon in my left knee. The surgeon cleaned it all up, and said I didn't have to wear a brace if I was extreamly careful about the lateral movement of my knee. Still keep one handy for the days it bothers me. Just take your time and let it heal. Even though you may feel good with it, it's still healing. May take a month or more. Keep up the strengthening exercises the Doc gave you and it will be all right. Prayers still going up for you brother. keep us posted, please, and take it easy for a bit, and come spring, you'll be back catching slabs like never before. Eric
