Default Green horn to the forum

Wanted to give a shout out to the Nebraska members. I have been a long time closet forum watcher and finally took the leap and joined. My thoughts and/goals for this decision are:

To possibly develop a Nebraska crappie trail/association, tournament circuit, and/or competitive club strictly for crappie. Ex. Crappie Busters in Topeka, Kansas, I would hope to see a similar club developed in Nebraska. Although, I would need a severe amount of interest and help from others to get this off the ground.

The potential to receive and share fishing techniques. Not individual fishing spots or specific presentations, but general insight/patterns on difficult fishing periods.

Of course to meet some interesting folks and potential friends/mentors.

    Thanks

Welcome to the Ne Board P4P: Glad you decided to join in the fun and knowledge that is ahead of you. You may want to give a brief information as to your fishing skill and why you decided to join CDC. What kind of boat you have, if yo uhave one, and how long you been fishing, and any other info you would want to share. EB

    EB,

No prob….A little info about myself, I guess my level of fishing skill would be some what difficult to comment on though. I guess without being in a tournament setting I feel fishing skills are all relative. I can say this much, I feel a lot more confident in finding fish than I do catching them.
My reasons behind joining the forum were stated in my first post. I truly hope by joining the forum that my interest in developing a Nebraska crappie association, trail, club, etc could actually materialize.
Yes, I have boat and it’s a Crestliner.
Probably like most of you, I started fishing at a very early age. I guess I didn’t take it too seriously until late high school early college.
Other than that I guess it’s just shop talk.

Bill: I wish you well on your trying to start a Crappie Club. You may try going to the Bait Shops, Marina's, Sporting and Tackle Stores, and Taverns, in your area, even Grocery Stores, and posting a sign stating that you want to start a club and list your phone# and try to generate some interest that way. Just a suggestion for you to get started with. Good Luck.
You may check with the Crappie Busters of Topeka Kansas if you know someone in it and see what they did to get started and how they drew up their by-laws and such. EB

    EB,

Thanks for the info. I take it a NE crappie club may not be the first priority on your list…? It is what it is. Anyhow, I was hoping to draw folks from as far away as N.P and Lincoln. By judging the response I’ve seen from other NE members on this forum, if there are other NE members, this idea may not get much further than it already is. Guess, I’m just announcing if there is any interest from any of you out there in a crappie association, club, tournament trail, and/or evening tournament series now is the time to speak up. Of course I’m thinking about plans for next year.

    Thanks

There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of Ne members on this site. There are Crappie fishermen everywhere tho. I would still try locally to get one started as I suggested and see what happens. Good Luck EB
