Crappie fishing is my lighthouse of sanity in an insane world,
It keeps me from crashing on the rocky shores of everyday life.
Crappie.com is my beacon of light!

That's the cheapest I've seen so far...
Hey Redboat,
I have that unit. Only been out a handfull of times since I got it. So far I love it! Of course, it is quite an upgrade from the old b&W single beam unit I was using before. I think I have to do some adjusting to the transducer placement though, as I lose depth reading once I am running on plane. The down imaging is amazing, there is no doubt when you are on top of a school of fish. I also got the 345c DI for the bow/ trolling motor. Ideally I would liked to have got an SI unit for the transom mount to see/ scout out more coverage area, as the DI only shows directly below the boat. But, I was able to get both units for less than what I would have paid for one SI unit.

Thanks for the comeback cly. I actually plan to put this unit on the bow/trolling motor. My reasoning for this is when spider-rigging, I'll be able to see directly under my rods, Plus I'll be able to mark waypoints and retrace my path.. Does the unit tell you at what depth the fish are?
Yeah, it has the standard depth marking lines, and you can use the auto-depth ranging, or you can switch it to the manual setting if you fish at consistent depths. It's also nice to be able to split the screen with the DI/ traditional sonar if you're used to the traditional picture, it helps relate what your seeing. But like I said before, you will know a school of fish when you seem 'em on the DI, they show up well. I can't give you much info on the accuracy of the waypoints, as I havn't yet had a chance to mess with that much. One thing that is odd, is that I was going to order the "puck style" TM transducer for the DI. Humminbird has it on their web site, but there is no tab available to purchase it. When I went to some of the other sites like Amazon, etc the picture they show looks like the transom mount style. So I just hooked the x-ducer to the bracket (minus the mounting base), and used a hose clamp around that. Works perfect -no issues. If you go that route, don't waste the $20 to buy the "TM adapter kit" they sell.
That's the way I currently have mine setup... Just be careful.. I got my wire caught on something and it pulled out of the transducer when I put the motor down... that's what started this escapade for me lol.... good excuse to upgrade vs. getting a new transducer I guess!
