Thread: Opinion poll - Rut or no rut?

My Dad is retired and hunts every day. Last week, he reported numerous bucks chasing does. He told me today that he saw 8 rack bucks chasing 1 doe around in a big clear cut. I would think that, according to that, there aren't a lot of does in heat right now (in the piedmont).

I know that there are many here that actually take a break from Crappie fishing to chase the elusive Whitetail Deer. I have witnessed some heated arguments as to whether the Deer are rutting now in the Piedmont or not. A fellow I know says that the Bucks are ready but the does are just begining to heat up. I have witnessed several does with their tales up and prancing around to get a bucks attention. What do you think?

Good eye, Newly. The does have thier TAILS up.

i had 9 does in my yard this morning....watched for ol big boy to come out...1 buck showed himself for just a sec. but hr was only a small 4 pointer...got to be a biggun in them woods somewhere...lol
