Jesus is ALWAYS the answer! He is THE SAVOIR, If you ask him, He will fix your mortal life and save your soul. He is waiting on you right now. You are worthy of salvation. Just ask.

Hey man, sorry to hear that this addiction has its control over you. I have a cousin who has battled drugs so long he has lost everythign because of it. DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU!!!!!!!! Take control of your life. We are all where we are in life due to the decisions we've made in our life up to now. Who you will be in the future depends on the decisions you make today. As others have said, Jesus is the answer to whatever problem we experience in life. None of us deserve or are worthy of the love He shows us, but He offers His love and grace to us because He loves us. Please PM any of us if that would be more comfortable to you to talk about things. I am praying for you.

You've already taken the biggest step and this is admitting in a public forum that you have a problem. I will promise to pray for you. We all have a God shaped void in our lives that can only be filled by Him. Find someone that will ask you the tough questions and hold you accountable. Special K's verse always holds true, "As iron sharpens iron...so one man sharpens another".
step 1-we admitted we were powerless
keep'n it simple
Bigfish....you didn't lie to me...your love for alcohol did. No hard feelings on my part..and anything I can do for you let me know. These guys gave some great advice, but as you know its all worthless, unless you want to quit. I can't say I know what you are going through, because I never consumed alcohol in my life. I just hope that since you admitted the problem you will take the steps necessary to take care of this problem. It will be a battle, as I saw my grandfather and other family members fight it for years. Good luck to you. Poppop.
You may not remember me we only met once, but if i can help in any way let me know, Later Bobby
I PRACTICE CATCH & FRY---WHEN I CAN FISH AND CATCH:D
I've been lucky to never have that problem but I drank alot when I was young. Then after I met my wife who doesn't drink, it just got where it wasn't any fun by myself so I just seemed to quit. I know you feel like this doesn't say much, but if you stay around others who want to help and don't drink around you maybe it will make it easier. Got a friend who drank 10 -12 beers each nite, told me he wanted to slow down, we seldom ever drink at all together, now he says he can take it or leave it, says he feels better too. Anyway I wish you luck.
It took some courage to post this thread, so we all know you have the courage to stop. I have never seen anyone handle this on their own so stick with the help from AA, but also know that we are all pulling for you and praying for you. Good luck, stick with AA, and God Bless you.
Guys thanks for all of the Kind words and advice. The setament expressed in these posts will help me along my path. I hope to see you all on the water soon. Take care and thanks again!
Hang in there bigfish! You got a lot of guys behind you here.
This is no where near what you are battling but I have been on a diet for a couple of months. I hit 276 lbs. the end of Feb and said "thats it!" I aint hittin 300! I am now down to 251. Another 20 to go and belive me the first 10 or 15 was easy. Now its a battle. One thing I put down was the alcohol. Sweet tea is the hardest thing. It's a lifestyle change. But I know it's what I want, and if I want to enjoy my sons latter years it's a change I have to make. Help is out there. Talking through it when you feel weak with friends and family and even the guys here will help. Don't be afraid to ask for it. Good luck bro!
Just get him on, then we'll worry about getting him in!
