    Default Watkins Mill Race-to-30 Tournament - Saturday, April 26th @ 7:00am

    • $30 entry.
    • $25 main pot - $5 big fish.
    • Only your big fish will be weighed.
    • First team back to the ramp with 30 fish will win.
    • 100% Payout (amounts dependent upon # of boats. Multiple places may be paid.)
    • Live bait is allowed.
    • Spider rigging will be allowed. So no restriction on rods. MO rules apply except only two hooks per rod.
    • Must have 1 CDC member on the team.
    • Maximum two people per boat.
    • You can be a guide and/or fish with a guide but you cannot be paid or pay anyone to fish with you during the tournament.
    • Fish anywhere on Watkins Mill Lake
    • Entries will be taken 30 minutes before start time near the ramp.
    • All winning positions will tell how they caught their fish. General area, technique, depth, jig color, etc.
    • Events are subject to cancellation due to weather. Determination will be made the Thursday prior to the tournament. Check the forum if in doubt.

    • All local lake-specific rules apply!! While there is no length limit, there is a 30-fish/person limit. There are also regulations on boat motors / speeds. No Wake!!

(The way I understand it, you can use your big motor at idle, but if you're more comfortable just using your electric, that's up to you.)

You are responsible for abiding by all state and local laws and regulations. Crappie.com nor any Tournament Organizer may be held responsible for your actions and by participating, you are agreeing to be liable for yourself. Remember, these are voluntary events.

One more thing: The underlying motivation for this tournament is to remove as many fish from this lake as possible, as it is stunted. At the completion of the tournament, you're encouraged to get back out there to finish out everybody's limits, and to take them with you when you leave. I'm not gonna ask you what you do with them after that, but...the Native Americans used them to help grow crops. Just sayin'!

I'm sure some of you have court-ordered community service to work off. Check with the judge to see if this can be applied!

Good luck! Hope you all can participate!

Joedog is right on the boat regs. You can use your large motor at no wake speed. Please take a limit home! I hope to be there myself! Joedog, make sure you have a regatta permit. They are free and easy to get at:http://www.mshp.dps.missouri.gov/MSH...ventPermit.pdf. Hope to see a good number of limits come out of there! It's improving but high harvest is needed every year.

This is a great idea Joe, sorry I will be out of town. Finally a tournament geared toward my type of fishing, catching DINKS!! And I wont be able to fish it, there is no justice.

I've never participated in a tournament like this. What are the starting rules, can you start with the boat in the water? Will big fish need to be submitted at the time of the 30 limit. Thank you for organizing, I've been looking forward to this since its mention last fall!!

All those fish will be herded to the opposite ends of the lake when all them big motors fire up.....

I have already set my idle rpms to the max.....I have to choke it down from that 4000 rpm to get 'er in gear !

Already got the regatta permit all squared away, Jake. Thanks, though. Got several for Smithville this year, too.

Frogy61, it'll be good to have you along. Great group of guys. Looking forward to meeting you.

In answer to your question, it's gonna be weird. Never did a tournament out there before, so I have no idea what to expect or even how many boats? Stopped by out there last Sunday to take a look around. Justin is right. Probably gonna have boats lined up along that dock waiting for the green light and then a slow pace to the various spots. I'm hoping for no wind, no wake so nobody's boat gets dinged. Might be a cluster no matter what we do, but I'm open to suggestions. Lotsa brighter minds than mine out there, that's for sure!
